Abductors of Bayelsa Legislator’s Father Demand N70m, Give Ultimatum



The suspected criminals who kidnapped the octogenarian father of a Bayelsa official , Mr Alfred Watson, has requested a payment of N70 million in the following three days.

Boss W.G. Watson Iti, the 81-year-old casualty, was seized on Saturday morning in the conduits of Bayelsa, particularly in Brass, while on his approach to cover his late spouse.

Yet, it was assembled yesterday that the abductors called the official at around 11.30pmdemanding N70m to discharge his dad.

A family source, who declined to be named, said that the shooters reached the casualty's administrator child with his phone number to make the interest.

"The ruffians called the legislator at around 11.30pm on Saturday and requested the payment. They called with the quantity of his dad and gave him amongst now and Wednesday to pay the payment. They didn't permit the legislator to talk with his dad."

At the point when reached Watson affirmed that the criminals reached him and requested the payment yet said he had no cash to give them.

He said, "I am requesting that they discharge my dad genuinely. There is no cash to give anyone. In what capacity would you be able to hijack an old man who was going to cover his dead spouse?"

The casualty, who hails from Okpoama kingdom, Brass Local Government Area, was purportedly whisked away on Saturday morning while he was passing on the body of his perished spouse for internment.
