NCAA begins certification of aviation security screeners

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has started full usage of accreditation of all Aviation Security Screeners in the country's air terminals.

The confirmation was reported at the weekend in an announcement marked by the Director General of NCAA, Capt. Muhtar Usman who noticed that the move is as per the procurement of ICAO Certification System (Annex 17 Standards 3.4.3) for flying security staff and the necessities of National Civil Aviation Security Training Program (NCASTP).

Capt Usman similarly educated that any individual preceding being assigned as an AVSEC Screener in Nigeria, must get accreditation from the NCAA.

The NCAA supervisor had in a letter titled Full Implementation Of Certification Of Aviation Security (Avisec) Screeners with ref.no: NCAA/AVSEC/SCRN.CERT/GEN/29 dated fifteenth June, 2016, exhorted all partners to begin the procedure of affirmation of their work force to go about as an Aviation Security Screener.
