FG undermining domestic airlines – Operators

The Airline Operators of Nigeria has said local bearers are being undermined by the administration through absence of backing for their operations.

The Chairman, AON, Capt. Noggie Meggison, said in an announcement that while remote trade was consistently being assigned to merchants of petrol at N285 per dollar, local carriers got no such backing from the legislature.

"The street transporters don't pay five for each penny VAT, or the administrative five for every penny ticket deals charge, or other different assessments being charged the carriers today, where as much as 35 for each penny of the aggregate ticket cost is paid as duties and tolls.

"Aside from the topic of no backing on the altered rate of plane fuel, the legislature is not making dollars accessible for the aircrafts to do their operations. To this end, consequently, it will appear like the aircrafts are being undermined."

Meggison said for most air travelers, the option mean of travel would pass by street.
