N’Assembly alone cannot pad budgets – Na’Abba

The previous Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ghali Na'Abba, has pronounced that there can be no cushioning of the national spending plan without the conspiracy of the official arm of government.

Na'Abba made this disclosure while handling questions from writers in Kaduna, yesterday.

He additionally noticed that it was the protected obligation of the National Assembly to make assignments on the financial backing submitted to it by the official.

"I expect that following 16 years of the arrival to majority rule government, Nigerians would comprehend the obligations of the National Assembly.

"For a few weeks now, there has been contention over what is called cushioning. To the extent I am concerned, the National Assembly has the obligation to pass the financial backing, favor it and permit the official arm to execute it.
