NANS backs N’Assembly on Communication Service Tax Bill

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has declared total support for the twin bill on Communication Service Tax (CST), and Unemployed Youths, Elderly and Indigent Sustainability Allowances Trust Fund, presently on the floor of the National Assembly.
National President, NANS, Comrade Tijani Usman Shehu, made the declaration yesterday during a press briefing in Abuja.
According to him, the decision to support the bill came as a result of an in-depth study, analysis, and series of meetings as well as the nationwide sensitizations on the said bills.

“After an in-depth study, analysis, series of meetings as well as the nationwide sensitizations on the twin bills titled: A bill for an act for the establishment of Communication Service Tax, CST, and for matters connected therewith, and a bill for an act to provide for the establishment of the Unemployed Youths, Elderly and Indigent Citizens Sustainability Allowances Trust Fund and for matters connected therewith, which strictly bothers on Youth and National development.
“The leadership of the NANS at an extra-ordinary emergency meeting has decided to lend their total support and do all that is within their powers and ambits of law to ensure that the two bills are given speedy passage at the National Assembly,” he said.
