All Progressive Congress (APC) blackmail of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is making the PDP stronger, the national chairmanship aspirant of the August 17, 2016 convention of the opposition party, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has said.
Speaking in Calabar during his campaign tour of Cross River state, Dokpesi said “our party is being blackmailed on daily basis, but instead of making us weak, it makes us stronger; we are out to rebrand the PDP.”
He said: “We will not denying the fact that there has been lots of impunity, godfatherism in the party; in spite of the fact that the PDP drifted from the vision of our founding fathers, we have the capacity to rebrand and rebuild the PDP. We are facing lots of challenges but challenges do not destroy, it brings out the best in you.

Dokpesi added that apart from ensuring that women get their 35 per cent affirmative action if he emerges as chairman, he would institute clear cut policies that would assist the party get back its lost glory.
Responding, on behalf of the Cross River state chieftain, immediate past House of Representatives member, Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo, said although the PDP was at its lowest psychological ebb after the 2015 defeat, Dokpesi’s emergence as national chairman would offer glimpse of hope and confidence that things could be better again, come 2019.
