Armsgate: ‘Only Dasuki can explain Jonathan cousin’s $40m’

A witness yesterday told a Federal High Court in Abuja that only the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, could provide relevant information on the payment of $40 million to Jonathan’s cousin.
Ibrahim Mahe said he transferred the money to Aziboala Roberts on August 24, 2014 after Dasuki instructed him to prepare a payment mandate in favour of his company, One-Plus Holdings Limited.
Led in evidence by EFFC counsel, Sylvanus Tahir Mahe, a retired Permanent Secretary for Special Services Operation (SSO) in the NSA’s office, said the money was an offshoot of the $600m set aside as special security fund which was sourced from the NNPC.
Under cross examination by defence counsel, Chris Uche (SAN), he admitted that several companies benefited from the fund, but did not name the companies. Justice Nnamdi Dimgba adjourned the case after Uche applied for time to cross examine the second witness and bank worker, Mr Olabode Fanilola. The case was fixed for October 6, 7 and 19 for hearing.
