Why I abused Tinubu — Melaye

Why I abused Tinubu — MelayeThe chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi West), yesterday, opened up on what transpired between him and Senator Oluremi Tinubu (APC, Lagos Central) during a closed door session on Tuesday.
Melaye while addressing newsmen yesterday said it was Tinubu that first attacked him verbally and that he tongue lashed her in retaliation.
“During the closed session, I stood up and pacified my colleagues who had gone to court to withdraw their case. I said if they refused, they should be suspended.
“After I spoke, so many other senators spoke and I did not mention the name of any senator while I was making my presentation, unfortunately, Senator Oluremi Tinubu got up and was recognised to speak and immediately she started speaking, she specifically mentioned my name.
“But, because of reasons only known to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, when she got up, the first thing she said was that she’s being harassed in this chamber by Senator Melaye.
“I kept quite at that point. She went ahead saying, why will he come here and be threatening senators and there was a large chorus from senators saying ‘how’, ‘when’, ‘where’?
“She called me a dog and when she called me a dog I stood up and I reacted and told her that this is not Bourdillon and that she should look at my face, I am not one of those senators who normally come to prostrate to them in Bourdillon.
