The Deputy governor of Adamawa, Engr. Martins Babale, has restated government’s commitment to peace building and rehabilitation of areas recovered from Boko Haram insurgency in the state.
He disclosed this in Gombi local government on Friday during an inspection visit, to one of the seven local government areas affected by insurgency in the state. The deputy Governor unveiled a peace bill board located at Gombi junction with an inscription ’’PEACE STARTS WITH YOU’’ sysbolising return of peace in the area.
Babale lauded the return of peace across the state and urged the citizens to work towards its sustenance as government continue to struggle within its limited resources to reconstructs affected roads and schools and public properties dtroyed by the insurgents in the area.

He noted that the completion of rehabilitation work in Muchala primary school and plans to rehabilitate Governemnt SecondarySchool, Gombi, Gombi-Biu road and Gombi township drainages were underway.
Speaking during the visit, the Acting chairman of Gombi, Mr Kefas Esami, lauded the state government for its intervention and assured the government of the people support at all time.
The District Head of Gombi who is also the Mukadas Adamawa, Alhaji Shuaibu Barde lauds the commitment of the people of the area to peace, commended government efforts for its timely interventions in rebuilding the area ,
Barde maintaind that about five times the Boko Haram insurgence made attempt to overran Gombi and it remote villages and move to Yola the state capital but were repelled by combined efforts of hunters and military in the area which he described as commendable.
