Alcatel has introduced its ‘Go Play’ smartphone into the Nigerian market, saying that the ruggedness of the device allows users to take pictures underwater and drop it from a height of 1.5 metres without fear of damage.
“Go Play is a one-metre water resistant device, and users can capture underwater adventures with its eight-megapixel rear camera and five-megapixel front camera,” the phone company said in a statement.
The Regional Director, Nigeria and Central Africa, Alcatel, Mr. Nick Imudia, signed the statement.
It read in part, “It has a dust resistant and shockproof. That means if users are jostled in the subway and drop the phone, or the phone takes a slide in the dirt while mountain biking, Go Play has got it covered.
“The ‘Viewme’ app allows users to record whatever is on screen, with the possibility of adding images and comments. It is great for use in recording comments to favourite tracks, or showing live reactions while gaming. Other pre-embedded apps like Periscope, Vine and Zello make sharing easy.”
The statement noted that the Go Play smartphone came in an eight-colour appeal: dark gray, dark red, dark green, orange blue, pink, lime green, blue and orange.
It also stated that there were splash proof headsets and protective cases to match Go Play too.
Imudia added, “And the smartphone extends playtime with 20 days of standby time; eight and half hours of talk time; and 40 hours music playback, thanks to the powerful 2500 mAH battery.
“At times you just want to engage in activities without any worries about damaging your phone. Go Play is that phone that supports your adventurous spirit. A lot of work has gone into making it your phone companion, and we are proud to guarantee that consumers will be overwhelmed by its performance.”
