Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the party’s candidate for the Anambra Central senatorial rerun election, Chief Victor Umeh, has described Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano, as a true leader who has given the residents of the state inspirational leadership since assuming office two years ago.
Speaking on the emergence of Obiano as the winner of the 2015 Zik Prize for leadership, Obiano said the award was well deserved given the governor’s giant strides in several areas of human endeavours in the state.
“The award he received was most well deserved. Since he came into office as governor, he has been able to give the good people of Anambra inspirational leadership. His approach to governance is in line with modern methods of governance. He is somebody who sets a vision for the state where he wants the state to be and he also devised ways of achieving those things”.

“If you are related to him, he will tell you his pillars of development and enablers that he is deploying to achieve those pillars of development. He has introduced modern approach to governance and added to it, he is very sincere and passionate about what he is doing. He builds harmonious relationship with people in government and in his party, APGA which is very critical”.
Speaking further, Umeh said unlike the past when APGA was enmeshed in various crises, the party has grown in leap and bounds since Obiano was appointed the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and National Leader.
“He has been in government for about two years and four months. Under him, APGA has been most peaceful in Nigeria unlike in the past when APGA was enmeshed in crisis, most times instigated by the immediate past governor, Peter Obi. This time around, the party has been very peaceful and it is moving very well, complementing the efforts of government in Anambra state,” he said.
