The Enugu State police command has prevented the lynching of two suspected homosexuals identified as Odinaka Orji from Gbaragu in Agbalaeji Inyi of Oji River local government area of Enugu State and one Nonso Ejimene by angry mob.
Sources said before the arrival of the police, the irate mob had already stripped the two suspects naked.
It was further gathered that the people were angry over the alleged homosexual activities of the duo.

A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu which confirmed the arrest of the duo said security operatives of the Central Police station, Enugu promptly intervened to save the situations.
He, however stated that the police has taken custody of the suspects, adding that they are now helping the operatives in their investigations in relations to their illicit activities within Coal Camp axis of Enugu and its environs.
“In his reaction, Odinaka maintained that he is married but his wife has left him because of his illicit activities which he blamed to act of Satan. According to him, he has visited many clergies to get him out the activity which met a brick wall. In the present case, he stated that he was on the verge of having an intercourse with a boy staying with him in the same room by name one Sunday adding that the boy ran out and shouted which attracted the attention of irate mob who rushed and took custody of him. They dealt with him before Police arrived at the scene. He however, prayed for Gods mercy upon him and also to help him come out of the said illicit activity.
“On his own part Nonso Ejimene maintained that he is also in the habit but had left it before what he described as satanic act pushed him into the activity as he tried to have an intercourse with one of the boys also staying with Odinaka and identified as one Chimezie whom he has severally threatened and disturb.
“Following the arrest of Odinaka that same yesterday,Nonso was promptly picked up together with Odinaka and together,they are helping the operatives in their investigations,” Amaraizu said.
